The APMC Board of Directors is pleased welcome Claire Donnenwirth as the new Executive Vice President of the Associated Plumbing & Mechanical Contractors, Sacramento Valley, and SMACNA, Sacramento Valley Chapter. Her appointment was effective December 1, 2007.

Claire comes to her new position with extensive background and experience in association management, particularly in construction-related associations. She has the depth and breadth of skills to administer the varied needs of our associations with nearly twenty years’ service to member-driven organizations.

Most recently, she was administrator with all the executive responsibilities for Golden State Builders’ Exchanges, a statewide association of community and county builders’ exchanges. As Executive Director, she handled all meetings, financial and budget operations, and communications with consultants, government agencies, Workers’ Comp groups and lobbyists throughout the state.

Prior to her tenure with the state association, Claire spent ten years at the Sacramento Builders’ Exchange with progressively more responsibilities over the decade. As Executive Director, she coordinated an award-winning building competition for high school students; supervised school-to-career education programs with industry partners; managed publication of an annual member roster, including advertising sales, editorial content and print production; administered the organization’s computer system, including website content, software design and implementation; supervised the association’s staff and acted as the building manager for the association’s headquarters. She also developed strategies for member recruitment and retention that resulted in consistent increases in membership.
